These are projects that I completed while working toward my Bachelor and Master degrees in Advertising & Public Relations at the University of Alabama.
GRADUATE THESIS
I completed my thesis, An Analysis of the Moderating Effects of Resistance to Persuasion on Adherence to COVID-19 Prevention Measures as part of my Master's program at the University of Alabama. I wanted to explore the answer to a question that had been on my mind since February 2020: Why were some people so resistant to COVID-19 prevention measures?
I completed this manuscript with the help of Dr. Hyoungkoo Khang, Professor of Advertising & Public Relations, my thesis chair, and Dr. Brian Britt, Associate Professor of Advertising & Public Relations and Associate Director of the Public Opinion Lab, and Dr. Jiyoung Lee, Assistant Professor of Journalism & Creative Media, my thesis committee members.
This paper was selected for presentation at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (AEJMC) annual conference in August 2023.
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES WHITEPAPER
This Whitepaper was completed as the final project for Social Media Analytics with Dr. Jameson Hayes. I used Sprinklr to gain insights into conversations around Southwest Airlines and its competitors, then created topics to conduct Brand Research, Audience Research, Lead Generation Research, Crisis Research, and Location Analysis.
CMA FEST BRAND AUDIT
This Brand Audit was completed with a group for a graduate-level branding class with Dr. Kenon Brown. We were expected to analyze the CMA Fest brand, then make five recommendations that would provide an unforgettable experience for CMA Fest attendees as well as bringing more awareness to CMA Fest and the CMA Foundation.
TRULY EXPLORATORY ANALYSIS
In a graduate-level branding class with Dr. Kenon Brown, I completed an analysis of the hard seltzer brand, Truly, and compared it to two other seltzer brands, Bon & Viv and White Claw. After the analysis, I gave three recommendations that I thought would benefit Truly's brand.
ROYAL CARIBBEAN MEDIA PLAN
This is the media plan presentation for Royal Caribbean that a partner and I completed during my first year of graduate school for Media Planning with Dr. Nancy Brinson. We conducted research and worked in Commspoint to compile data and develop insights, then put together a series of recommendations.
CHICAGO WHITE SOX CAMPAIGN
This is the final plansbook for a Chicago White Sox campaign that I completed with a group during the final semester of my undergraduate career. For our Capstone Projects, each Advertising & Public Relations student must take Campaigns, where we use the knowledge we have collected over the past four years to create a campaign proposal for a client. Our client was the Chicago White Sox. I was chosen by my professor, Randall Huffaker, to be the "CEO" of a group of 11 of my peers, which meant I was responsible for leading the group, delegating work, and ensuring that everything was completed on time. I also did design work for the final book, which was presented to executives from the White Sox.
These are examples of print advertisements that I did as a final project in Graphic Design Principles with Professor Mike Little. For the project, we were given the photos and copy, but were expected to choose our own colors, fonts, and overall layouts for the advertisements.
This is an example of a full-page ad.

During my freshman year of college, I was a photojournalist for the Crimson White, the University of Alabama's student newspaper. I was drawn to the CW due to my background in student journalism, and got to work on a variety of assignments for print and web publication.
This photo was taken for a spread about the stigma (or lack thereof) surrounding tattoos, and was featured on the cover of that issue of the print edition.
